Welcome to the Washington State Food and Nutrition Council Web site. Founded in 1969 in response to the White House Conference on Food, Nutrition and Health, WSFNC is an all-volunteer non-profit organization advocating for, and educating members about, food and nutrition issues that impact Washington State residents.  Specifically, we...

  • Promote nutrition education
  • Propose, influence, and monitor legislation affecting food and nutrition
  • Identify and monitor existing food and nutrition programs and services in order to make recommendations in the public interest
  • Provide information regarding food and nutrition programs and issues to members, member agencies, and the general public
  • Sponsor and support seminars, symposia, and conferences relating to food and nutrition
  • Team up with related groups on nutritional health issues for the well-being of our communities

A Fresh Outlook and a New Web Site

Throughout 2010, the WSFNC Board of Directors has been evaluating our purpose and reviewing our past accomplishments in an effort to plan for the future.  This process has awakened a strong desire to "get back to our roots"— it is even the theme for this year's conference!  Our fresh outlook has resulted in this newly designed Web site, which is just the beginning of more exciting things to come.
